Welcome and introduction

Hello and welcome! I am a proud mother of three children and two rambunctious dogs. I wear many hats in my daily life, but my favorite role by far is being a mother. My children are 25, 21 and 12. I have schooled my children at home for the last twelve years. I’ve always felt led to adapt my career to my home life, instead of the other way around. That is one reason I’ve joined the SAU team. Working online gives me the freedom to teach my youngest on a more consistent basis. Outside of my family, the strongest calling the Lord has ever laid on my heart has been patient care. I’ve been called into the healthcare ministry since the age of 12. I am passionate about providing excellent patient care and educating future healthcare providers in doing the same.

Education and Work Experience

I graduated in 2004 with an Associate’s degree in nursing. I began working full-time in telemetry/med-surg and attending the University of Southern Mississippi part-time almost immediately. In 2010, I graduated from USM with a Master’s of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. In 2019, I graduated from George Washington University with a Master’s of Science in Health Sciences with a focus on Integrative Medicine.

As a nurse practitioner, I’ve spent five years in neurology, two years in hospitalist/internal medicine, and eight years in family practice/integrative medicine.

Testimony

I accepted Christ at the age of 12. Within months, He called me into the healthcare field and placed on my heart a longing to ease suffering whenever possible. In my 21 years as a nurse, I’ve seen miracles beyond human comprehension. My daily prayer is that the Lord will help me remain humble and obedient, so that my humanity never stands in His way.

At home, I’ve been educating my children through a Christian worldview since they were born. In my professional life, as a practitioner, an educator, and a lifelong learner, my faith in Christ sustains me through an ever-growing passion that seems to be resistant to all forms of burn out. I wake up every morning humbled by the opportunity to serve Him through a career so fulfilling it can’t possibly be called work!
